Have you ever wondered how those old Plastic water bottles can be transformed into clothes?
You'll be surprised to know that most synthetic active wear is made from plastic. However, our brand has a unique approach to Eco-friendliness – we make luxury active wear out of discarded plastic bottles that would clog landfills if not transformed.
So how do we do it? We collect post-consumer water bottles, strip them of their labels, and crush them into tiny chips. These chips are then washed thoroughly until they shine like new. After undergoing processes like "polymerization," we create soft, recycled yarn that doesn't need petroleum and helps reduce the number of water bottles in landfills.
The making of your activewear
Our garments are made in factories which have SA8000 and WRAP certifications. SA8000 is a social accountability standard and certificate developed by Social Accountability International (SAI). This certification encourages organisations to develop, maintain, and apply socially acceptable practices in the workplace.
Getting an SA8000 certification means making sure really important things are in place – like saying no to forced or child labour, ensuring workplaces are safe, and allowing the freedom to form unions.
These standards should be a must for every factory. We think of them as a strong foundation for building and growing our business.
Opting for sustainability whenever possible
Choosing responsibility when we can’t
Our Product
At Kynd + Active, we make garments that are timeless and highly functional. We invest a lot of time in R&D and make sure that our seams, fabric, and finishings are of the highest quality possible.
For us, sustainability begins with creating clothes that are long-lasting and versatile. We're not about chasing seasonal trends. Instead, we've got a lineup of timeless favourites that you can rock again and again, no sweat. Oops! we mean, yes sweat!
And we get it—bringing new products to life isn't entirely Eco-friendly, and we're real about that. Still, we're actively working on lessening our impact since our inception. We won't claim to have it all figured out, as we are not 100% sustainable yet. There is room for improvement and we will always strive to become the best, most responsible version of ourselves, as we grow.
Better Packaging
Navigating sustainability just like you do life—our packaging is designed to be kind to the planet. No frills or fuss, just eco-friendly materials that keep our conscience as light as our footprint. Because looking good should always feel good.
We proudly use 100% biodegradable and recycled mailers.
